Getting a cold is miserable. Getting a cold while still trying to take care of your baby is miserable. But getting a cold while caring for a child and breastfeeding- beyond miserable.
Normally when I get a cold I take beyond the recommended dose of Emergen-C and Zinc. Recommended? No. Honest? Yes. I also take every form of cold medication available to me. But when your pregnant toe breastfeeding, you basically get stuck with nursing yourself back to being able to breathe out of both sides of your nose with only hopes and dreams. So how do you survive a cold while nursing or just in general? Here are some times from a freshly stuffed-up Momma!
For years I have sworn by infused water to de-bloat, boost immunity, and just help me drink more because it taste good! Whenever I feel the first tickle in my throat I grab an orange, lemon, some ginger root, and my infused bottle. I aim to drink as much as I can throughout the day. The extra h2o and the both of citrus and ginger helps diminish my symptoms faster than any other home remedy I have tried.
Apple Cider and Cinnamon Tonic Shots
