When I was pregnant a dear friend of mine brought me a pack of affirmations for pregnancy and labor. On the days I felt overwhelmed by all the changes taking place in my body and my life I would look through the cards for calm and encouragement- I even packed them into my birth bag for use during delivery!
When I was struggling through those first weeks of breastfeeding I held on to several affirmations I made for myself to bring be reassurance that I was capable of overcoming the challenges that I was facing and providing for my baby. For World Breastfeeding Week I wanted to share with you some of the affirmations that helped me get through- and still help me.
Whether you are a new mom struggling to breastfeed, a mom returning to work who is worried about being unable to continue, a mom who’s baby is on a nursing strike, or maybe just a tired mamma who wonders how much longer she can loan out her body to be a milk making machine- these are for you. We all need encouragement from time to time- and we need to encourage each other! Be open with your journey in breastfeeding and the struggles you face.
This past weekend an event took place in my community called “The Big Latch On”. It was a gathering of breastfeeding moms and their families; a time to meet other breastfeeding moms and encourage one another. It is so important to find your tribe of moms and support each other through the challenges that motherhood brings along!
Enjoy these little words of encouragement and feel free to download the printable pack and share it with other mom!
