My diaper bag has a side pocket for wipes which make it convenient to grab for changes or spills. I then layer my diapers at the bottom and place the changing mat near the front of my bag as the back has an opening to make diaper access easy.

Next I layer the first aid kit, burp cloth, blanket and nursing scarf in the main portion. I use the surrounding pockets to organize the clothes, pacifiers, medicine, and mom stuff a.k.a. panty liners, lanolin, and nursing pads.
